Chuck's Two Kilobytes Worth

Home Computing One-Liners Resume Chickens!?!

I'm Chuck Burkins (that's a little sketch of me up in the corner), and this is my home page. It's a rewrite of my old pages, and I've cleared off a lot of old content. I you really want that old content, you'd best contact me.

I live in the Champlain Valley of Vermont. Farm country, usually dairy farms. Stunningly beautiful most of the year.

I'm a programmer by trade. Also a system manager. I call myself a geek-of-all-work, and I can be hired. I'm currently the CTO and VP (which translates to boss sysadmin and programmer) for a small company, The Friday Group Here's my resume, if you like looking at that kind of thing. We do web programming, computer support, some hosting, and development of our own products. We also have a side of the company that does architectural specifications. Check out the beta of our new product, docuble.

I use Linux. I also use Mac OS X. I also use Windows. Oh, and FreeBSD. I try to use the best tool for the job. I no longer maintain the my Linux File Manager Page, because I no longer have time to devote to trying new things with desktop Linux. The content is still available if you follow the links, but from my perusal of the Linux news groups, I no longer see a need for such a page. Still, I've left it here for historical purposes, and to keep some links live.

I'm a member of the Congregational Church of Vergennes, where I teach church school. If you're looking for a fundamentalist Bible thumper, I'm not that.

I'm a member of the Vergennes Lions Club. We Serve.

For Hobbies, well, I'm a gamer. I'm an amateur astronomer. (8" dobsonian with a telrad, thanks for asking). I also have grown attached to the chickens we raise. And to my family of course!
